Has
the thought ever crossed your mind, wondering;
`When I die, I wonder what will happen? Do I have a spirit or
soul? Will I make it to heaven? Is there such a thing as
heaven... or... even... hell?'
For many people that do not have much involvement in Church or
religion (if any), they may not think much about this sort of thing...
but I am sure that this question passes through their mind... at one
time or another. A day comes... and they get a close call
here or there... a near miss... almost in an accident... etc
etc. Or hear of someone dying suddenly... and then they wonder
this.
Many dismiss it, and
continue on in their lives, figuring it is a bunch of hogwash, and not
worth the time.
But what if it isn't... what if it all IS true....
that you DO have a soul, and that we need to make choices NOW... to
decide our ultimate fate and destiny???
And to ignore that...
isn't that a big risk to be taking?
Well, you may not believe me, but it IS true. How do I know
this? Through faith.
My faith, in Jesus
Christ.
I am a Christian... that means I am a follower of Jesus Christ... I
believe in the bible, and what it states... such as that Christ
existed, that He died for our sins, and that through His sacrifice for
us, I am saved. According to the Christian faith, this
is the only way to get to heaven.
Who is this man called `Christ'? And why should I believe in
him?
Good questions. But to know more about Christ, one must read the
book that tells all about Him... its called the `bible'.
The Bible is the historical account of what happened long ago,
including who Jesus is, and what he did. Yes, it
is a long book... but it is what one needs to read, in order to find out
more.
You can also start off easily too by taking (whats
called) an `Alpha course',
held at any local church. Alpha courses are introductory lessons
in Christianity, and are an excellent way to get to know all about
Christ / Christianity. This
is a 9 week (approx) FREE program (once a week - a few hours an
evening with free dinners too!) in which you can learn the very basics
to Christianity! It just may save your soul!

As
for the bible - here are some excerpts
from the bible itself;
In Romans 5:1
it says; `We have peace with God through our Lord
Jesus Christ".
In
Luke 13:3 Jesus said, "unless you repent, you too will all
perish." and in John 3.3 He said,
"... no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born
again." So, if you have repented of your sins and
asked Jesus to be your Lord then you will have begun a new life and
know the Holy Spirit's presence in your life as He brings conviction
of sin, guides you in all truth and brings glory to Jesus as stated in
John 16:8-14.
Hebrews 12:14 says, "without holiness no one will see the
Lord." The Holy Spirit's presence enables us to walk in
holiness and that walk is our absolute assurance of salvation.
Matthew 7:17-21 says " Likewise every good tree bears good
fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. {18} A good tree cannot bear
bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit.
{19} Every tree that
does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. {20}
Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them.
{21} "Not everyone
who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but
only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. If you
are saved, good works and actions will naturally follow.
Many people think that they can just live a good life and treat people well
and that that should get them into heaven. Not so.
These are good things
to do - true - but your works won't get you into heaven. Many will be
fooled into believing this, and sadly, won't make it there... and they
will be lost.
The bible even speaks to this, in Proverbs 14:12;
"There
is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to
death"
But it's not too late!
If you would really
like to make it into heaven... to be truly `saved'... you must believe
in Christ! Believe that he died for your sins!
And believe that He is the one and
only true God. That He is your Saviour!
Ask Him to help you, and He will! The bible backs up this
statement!
"Here
I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice
and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with
me" Revelation 3:20
That if you confess with
your mouth, `Jesus is Lord' and you believe in your heart that God
raised him from the dead, you will be saved."
Romans 10:9
Anything short of that... won't work.

The bible also states this... some of the most important
verses within the bible itself:
John - Chapter 3, Verses 16 - 18
`For God so loved the world that he gave his one and
only son, that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have
eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to
condemn the world, but to save the world through Him. Whoever believes
in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands
condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one
and only son".
Romans 6:23 states:
"For the wages of
sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our
Lord."
Will you receive Jesus Christ right now?
Here is how you can receive Christ;
1.) Admit your need. (I am a sinner)
2.) Be willing to turn from your sins. (Repent)
3.) Believe that Jesus Christ died for you on the cross and rose from
the grave.
4.) Through prayer, invite Jesus Christ to come in and control your
life through the Holy Spirit. (Receive him as Lord and Savior)
How to pray?
Here is an example of a prayer you could say;
Dear Lord Jesus,
I know that I am a sinner, and I ask for Your forgiveness. I believe
you died for my sins and rose from the dead. I turn from my sins and
invite You to come into my heart and life. I want to trust and follow
You as my Lord and Savior. In your name, Amen!
So! .... its up to you. Do you want to
go to heaven? Why not check this all out, and not risk losing
out! Couldn't hurt to know more!
Cause if you aren't saved now... you simply aren't
going.
